Heya! My name is Jack Evstigneev, I am 20 years of age and based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. I graduated in 2018 and since then, I have studied at North Sydney Tafe and worked at Simpson Cinema. Recently, I have been interning at Culture Machine which is another production company/ modelling agency and working freelance as a Photographer and Videographer.
The photos I have submitted are a series of portraits and surf orientated shots, all of which have been taken at local beaches and bushland tracks along the northern beaches.
The gear I used is a Canon 70d, predominantly a 24mm f/2.8 or my 50mm f/1.4 and an external flash.
I have been interested in photography since I was a kid, and over the past 5 years I have kept up the same interest and determination! Studying photography in school and on the weekends, I would travel into the city to photograph live music at night and photograph surfing during the day.
Inspirations of mine over the past few years have predominantly been Woody Gooch, Morgan Maassen and John Respondek but as I have gotten older I have come into my own style. I believe developing a very minimalistic yet engaging feel to my own photography as I often use it to reflect aspects of my personal life. I believe that those personal connections are reflected subtly in my own body of work.
During lockdown and isolation, it has really been a time of self development and reflection upon myself and my work. I spend a lot of time educating myself on other artists and finding ways to improve my work and a short art film I am currently in the process of making.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could look further into my portfolio to support myself and other artists.
