Once upon a time in G-Land I was having a couple of Bintangs with a crew of international surfers when an Australian veteran told me: You don´t need to travel mate, you are Portuguese.
I will never forgot that, this was way before, Nazaré got famous and before the WSL stop in Peniche. Of course I ended up doing 10 boat trips off Sumatra, travelled around Peru, the Caribbean, Morocco, etc, anyway. But he was right from big waves, to perfect point-breaks and crazy slabs we have it all. As a photographer I also feel blessed to be based here, because besides the waves Portugal has awesome backdrops and the most beautiful light, specially in the Algarve, where I live.
